14 months!

I have not posted in far too long and I apoligize. I planned to post a 12 month blog after Ethan's birthday, doctors appointments, etc but it didn't end up happening. Basically we scheduled Ethan's 12 month appointment but a few days before we went Ethan started acting sick. He slept a lot and wasn't eating. The day before the appointment Ethan got a fever of 102-103. When we went to the appointment his temp was back down but we couldn't get his shots because he had had a temp the night before. The doctor didn't test to see if anything was wrong with Ethan since his temperature went away. Well later that day it went back up. We called the doctor but she said not to bring him back for it unless it lasts 5 more days. It ended up only lasting 4 more so we never found out what was wrong with him. Oh also! Ethan weighed a little over 24 pounds and was around 31 inches tall at his 12 month check up. The appointment we went to before that he weighed 25 so I guess he lost some weight. Anyway..when we went to reschedule to get his shots they said oh no we don't make appointments for just shots, you call us the day you want to come in and if we're free then you come. Well when we would call they were always busy so finally Nick got them to just let us make an appointment. Ethan didn't end up getting his shots until around 13 months because of that. Also they didn't weigh him or anything that time which is weird since they always do. We ended up having Ethan's birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. Nick's mom and I took him there to see how he liked it before hand and he loved it. Well when his party rolled around he was not having any part of it. He wouldn't let me set him down, wouldn't go to anyone but me and nick, didn't play etc. It was very stressful. Especially since there is a 2 hour limit so it was hard letting the kids play, eating, and having time for presents. I ended up opening all of his gifts because he wouldn't touch them. He got so much nice stuff, he really is a spoiled thing. He got a ride on train, ride on car, a quad rider, clothes, books, and lots of other toys. I can't remember if I ever wrote about Christmas on here. Probably not. Ethan got a lot of great gifts for Christmas too. He's got such a great family:)! He got a rocking horse, a learning play house, clothes etc. Not long ago I took Ethan to Jungle Java for the second time to try to get him some baby friends since our last attempt failed. This time was worse. There were only girls there and they did NOT want to play with Ethan. One ran, one yelled at Ethan for looking at her dad, one even purposely slid down the slide while Ethan was in front of it and knocked him down. I was one angry mama. I just realized there is a play Gymboree in Riverview so I think I am going to sign Ethan up for that to make new friends. It's clearly closer and will probably have a lot more kids his age. Also, he will be around the same kids every class so he will get to actually make friends. Also with the membership we get to go to open gym so Ethan can make friends there too. It is in walking distance from our new apartment (YES! NEW APARTMENT! SO EXCITED) so it will be great to get out of the house (seeing as our current apartment is in walking distance to nothing). Nick also got a ymca membership so I am going to put Ethan in toddler swim lessons there (I can not swim so someone needs to teach him hah). We were going to start in a few days but can't yet because I need to change my address to match Nick's. His is still his moms and mine is still my aunts so once we move to our new apartment in a month we are both going to change our address and then Ethan and I can start swim lessons! I can't exactly think of milestones Ethan has reached since the last post because I don't remember what he was doing when I posted the last one. But just recently Ethan has started saying more like dog, cat, truck, car. He stopped saying mama for a while and only said dada, now he is back to mama. He also makes car sounds and can meow! He is just adorable! He also points to a lot more now to show us what he wants and just what he is interested in. Not long ago we were with my brother and at a red light in front of a car dealership. Ethan started pointing out the window saying car car car. It was too freaking cute! In other news, we got a new car so now Nick says he will teach me to drive in it so I can finally get my license and a car then Ethan and I can get out more. Also we took a trip to Washington Dc and Ethan went on his first plane! He was good on the way there, he slept the whole way but on the way back he was not so good. Threw fits at the airport, cried the whole plane ride, threw up on Nick on the plane, etc. Oh well, he needs the experience so we can travel more! Speaking of traveling, in 2 weeks Alex, Ethan and I are taking a trip to Indiana to see my brother Daniel and his wife Katie. I am excited because we are going to take Ethan to this children's museum which should be fun! I know Ethan won't be able to do a lot of the stuff right now but it gives me something to look forward to going back to. Also it will be nice to just get away for a couple days and do something new. Anyway, back to the new apartment news! I am very excited because not only are we in walking distance from stuff, but we are back in Riverview. We are way closer to Nick's mom's house which is nice. Also the apartment is nice! It's cheaper than where we live now and bigger. It has 2 bathrooms which is nice, the bedrooms and living room are bigger than ours right now. We are giving Ethan the master bedroom so he has a lot more room to play(we rarely go in his room here because there isn't space to do anything) and we won't have toys in our living room anymore! I am very very excited to move! I just ordered Ethan a new toy chest online for his new room which makes me more excited for the move! Also our new apartment has a pool so Ethan can practice what he learns in swim lessons! It will be great!! Well I think I am done rambling for now. I hope I didn't make too many errors in this because I am not going back to read it hah.
